We were hoping for sun when we went to Croatia at the beginning of June but again the weather was very changeable with several storms. We flew to Split and met Andrew who had travelled down there with a friend. For four days we sailed around the islands with him on a yacht and were lucky to have two days of good wind for sailing. Andrew went home on Wednesday and we had five more days to ourselves.

Visiting Peter and Patricia

At the end of April we drove down through Switzerland and Italy to the South of France to visit Peter, Patricia and Oliver. On the way we stayed at Lake Lugano in Switzerland and stopped and ate pizza at Lake Como before taking a boat trip. We also had a very wet morning in Milan where we did some shopping. The three days that we spent in Cannes were also very wet so there were no opportunities for sunbathing on the beach!

Visiting Sabine and Thomas in Trier

At Easter we visited Thomas (our best man), Sabine, Flavia and Gabriel in Trier. We arrived on Good Friday, visited Luxembourg on Saturday and a very pretty village called Saarburg on Easter Sunday. Of course on Easter Sunday we were up very early hiding Easter eggs and presents in the garden ready for the hunt when everybody came back from church. On Monday we met friends in Düsseldorf for lunch and spent some time in the city and down by the river.

Wilhelma with Hanna and Oleana

Catherine, Hanna and Oleana (Hanna and Daniel's au pair) also spent the day at Stuttgart Zoo. Hanna liked the snakes (luckily they were behind glass :o)) and the butterflies best. The monkeys were very funny.

Catherine's trip to England

Catherine made a trip to England between August 14th and 24th. She caught up with the family and lots of friends. The first few days were spent in Lymington and Nicky and Laila also visited. Laila is now crawling and it is amazing that she will be one this month! She is very cute and doesn't like sitting still!

Jürgen and Daniela's Wedding

In July we spent a weekend in Bavaria celebrating Jürgen and Daniela's wedding. Heavy rain was forecast but during the day the weather was fine and it only rained in the evening. A collection of photos taken by Matthias, Peter (the official photographers) and Michael can be seen on inuitive.com.

Introducing Baby Friess

The big news here is that Baby Friess is due on May 22nd. We are very excited and you can see the scan pictures on Baby Friess' page!! Baby Friess is looking normal, everything is developing as it should be. He / she was looking very relaxed on the scan at week 13 with his / her legs crossed :o) We are looking forward to a surprise, we don't want to know the sex beforehand. Catherine is looking forward to the end of morning sickness which has been pretty horrible but the main thing is that Baby Friess is happy and healthy
