Happy New Year
Happy New Year
Happy New Year for 2008. We hope that you had a good Christmas and New Year. Our Christmas was very quiet, just the two of us on Christmas Day but we had a very relaxing day playing games, watching DVDs, walking in the woods and opening presents. Two days before Christmas Jana (7) and Calvin (4) (Robert and Saba's children) came to help us decorate the Christmas tree and Boxing Day was spent here with Jamie and Roland. Leanne and Rich came over for a bbq and fireworks on New Year's Eve and we cooked English breakfast to start the year. Later that day we drove to The Black Forest where we spent two days with Sabine, Flavia and Gabriel. There wasn't any snow where we stayed but they managed to go a bit higher and ski. On the way back we stopped at Lake Titisee which was completely frozen over and covered in sledges and skaters (a bit different to how it looked when we visited with Wendy and Derek in the hot summer of 2006). Other than that we did quite a bit in the house, at last we have lights in every room and have done lots of the odd jobs that probably won't be done once Little Friess is here :o)
We had our 21 week scan on January 10th and Little Friess is looking good. He / she is 25 centimetres long and very active!! We will always remember the date of the first kicks - December 30th, our second wedding anniversary! We have chosen our new car (Honda FRV) and are now starting to think about what Little Friess will need, it seems to be a very long list!! We already have a cot and pushchair from Thomas and Jutta, it's nice to think that Little Friess will be sleeping in the same bed as his / her cousins. A couple of friends are coming over to visit in February and March so we're hoping that they will be able to help with shopping - we're not sure if we need everything from the lists we've been given!
Now it is back to normality, we both went back to work this week after the Christmas break. Michael is very busy but has no overseas trips planned and Catherine is hoping to work until at least Easter. Michael is going to Austria next weekend with a group of friends to ski, Catherine is giving it a miss this year for obvious reasons!
We hope that you are all happy and healthy and look forward to seeing you soon!
