We are now a family of three :o) After Jessica's birth we spent three days in a family room in the hospital which was a great experience for all of us and meant that we could both get to know her with the support of the hospital staff when we needed it. It was fantastic for both of us to have so much initial contact. Jessica passed her first two medical exams with flying colours and has her next one in four weeks. She took to breastfeeding straight away and a week after the birth is almost back to her birth weight.

We came home on Wednesday and apart from a visit from Thomas, Jutta, Hanna and Daniel we have had a very quiet time with daily visits from the midwife. We are starting to get to know Jessica better and trying to establish some sort of routine. She is sleeping well, eating well and has been enjoying daily walks in the sling with Michael. Michael has been on holiday since the birth and plans to have next week off as well before all the family visits. Wendy, Derek, Nicky, Irfan and Laila will be visiting us in June and Andrew will be here in July so we are looking forward to seeing all of them and introducing the newest member of the family.
