December 2009 Wendy and Derek Wendy and Derek came for Christmas which meant a trip to the Christmas Market in Stuttgart. We also had a trip to the Black Forest with lunch in 'snowy' Freudenstadt, visited Horb am Neckar and Esslingen. Thomas, Jutta, Hanna and Daniel spent Boxing Day with us. |

August 2009 Gabriel Gabriel spent a few days with us alone and we went swimming, to the chocolate factory and to the toy shop twice! |

June 2009 Andrew Andrew spent a long weekend with us during which we spent a day in the Black Forest (driving through the Nagold Valley) and an afternoon at Hohenzollern Castle. We also went to Strasbourg where we did a river cruise along the Ill and saw the European parliament. |

April 2009 Jo Jo had a conference in Herrenberg so she arrived a day early to visit us. We cooked her a traditional German meal and visited the Schloss gardens in Ludwigsburg. |

April 2009 Anne, Mark, Jenny and Robert During the Sills' family visit we spent the day exploring Tübingen where we had a picnic by the river and a walk up to the castle. Our day in Stuttgart included a traditional German meal at Ochs'n Willi and a visit to the toyshop. We also visited several playgrounds! |

October 2008 Thomas, Sabine, Flavia and Gabriel The Gehrig family were here for Catherine's birthday. It was a perfect autumn day and we spent it at The Wilhelma. |

September 2008 Auntie Valerie and Uncle Keith Auntie Valerie and Uncle Keith stayed with us for a few days at the beginning of their holiday. We visited the Ritter Sport chocolate factory and then drove on to Tübingen. We also spent a day sightseeing in Stuttgart and tasted some of the new wines at the wine festival. |

June 2008 Nicky, Irfan and Laila Nicky, Irfan and Laila came to meet Jessica and as they were here on Michael's birthday we went to one of his favourite restaurants, Alter Bahnhof, for lunch. Laila also enjoyed playing in the sand in the park. |

June 2008 Wendy and Derek Wendy and Derek came to meet their new granddaughter and help out after the birth. We didn't do any sightseeing on this visit as Wendy was busy gardening and Derek went out several times a day with Jessica in the pram. |

April 2008 Wendy, Nicky and Laila came for a short midweek visit to help with the last baby preparations. We had a very relaxed week, Wendy did lots of gardening, Laila and Nicky played football and went to the park and we went baby shopping. |

February 2008 Claire spent a long weekend with us. We visited Tübingen, Bebenhausen, Stuttgart and the spa in Böblingen. Claire also spent time doing some gardening! |

October 2007 Sabine, Thomas, Flavia and Gabriel Sabine, Thomas, Flavia and Gabriel stayed overnight on a trip down to the Black Forest to visit family. |

August 2007 Sally and Pete Sally and Pete were driving their MX-5 through France to Austria and stayed overnight with us in Böblingen to break the journey. We caught up on all the news over a bbq on Saturday afternoon and then enjoyed a long, leisurely breakfast on the terrace on Sunday morning. |

June 2007 Wendy, Derek, Nicky, Irfan, Laila and Andrew The Hancock family visited for Michael's fortieth birthday. As well as party preparations we visited the Ritter Sport chocolate factory, had a picnic by the river in Tübingen and climbed up the church tower, walked up to the castle and had lunch in Herrenberg, went to Sindelfingen and had a meal in the Alter Bahnhof in Holzgerlingen. Derek and Michael also visited the Daimler factory and Derek went to work with Catherine! |

Kate and Tom On our first wedding anniversary we spent the day in Stuttgart with Tom and Kate. We also walked to Holzgerlingen, took the train to Weil im Schönbuch, celebrated New Year's Eve with fireworks and a barbecue and on New Year's Day we chilled out in the spa. |

November 2006 Andrew Andrew's visit coincided with the Christmas markets, we visited three! This picture was taken in the medieval market at Esslingen and we also visited the big market in Stuttgart and our local one in Böblingen. We ate at the brewery in Böblingen, visited the Mercedes Benz Museum, spent a day in Stuttgart and Andrew visited Tübingen and the Porsche Museum. |

October 2006 Teresa and Mark had a day sightseeing in Stuttgart. We went to Tübingen where we went punting, ate at the beer garden by the river and climbed to the top of the church tower (back of the picture). We also went to the cabbage festival in Echterdingen where Mark drank Baileys from a cabbage leaf!! |

September 2006 Patricia, Peter and Oliver
Peter, Patricia and Oliver were visiting Munich for the Oktoberfest so we drove to Munich for the day to meet up with them. We had lunch in a traditional Bayerisch restaurant and spent the afternoon in the English Garden. We didn't know it at the time but it was the day that Laila was born. |

We had an action packed week despite the exceedingly hot weather and visited the Freibad in Holzgerlingen, Lake Titisee and Lake Schluchsee in the Black Forest, Ludwigsburg Palace and gardens, Bebenhausen monastery, Stuttgart and went punting in Tübingen. Thomas, Jutta, Hanna and Daniel also joined us one afternoon for coffee and cake and we had several barbecues. |

August 2005 Jo and Lawrie During their weekend trip Jo ran and Michael and Lawrie cycled to Holzgerlingen. We went to the Rhinefalls and Triberger waterfalls in the Black Forest as well as fitting in some shopping in Sindelfingen. |

Patricia Patricia was working in Stuttgart for the weekend so we met her for a traditional German meal. |
